Prince - Puff Daschle, the Mails and the Media

Now that the inner circle got penetrated, Congress will show their true colors and start to take action. Action to protect their own. But will there be any overspill for the rest of us? Now the talk is that the bicameral bodies want to finish this term, as soon as possible and high tail back to their districts. For some, this may well be their first visit back home between elections. The Daschle response made you think that he was practicing his remarks by biting his lip. How reassuring his press announcements that the Capital Hill police force is in charge!

Declare Victory, The War has Already Been Decided!

After on month of reflection from 911, a trend is in place and unbroken. The American public was never in doubt. Their reaction was typical and predictable. The direction of events are moving fast, even if the final outcome is unpredictable. But what is decided, is that the final victory has been realized, already. No, we are not referring to the vanquishing of the al-Qaida and all the offsprings of Terrorism. That will come for the particular, and some partial success for the general, but the real winner is the system of control.

The Empire Strikes Back, Again

You heard these words before! Now that the campaign has started, we are suppose to quell the debate and support the troops. That is what we are told and how most would judge. No one is really serious that the 'coalition' is the Empire with Darth Vader leading the storm troops into action. No one but bin Laden! Certainly none of us could agree with his conclusions. Just look at the polls, the jury didn't have to spend any time on deliberating this verdict.

Why Stop With bid Laden?

Finally, America has found a reason for 'Outrage'! For the first time in many years, the pulse of the national circulation system has blood pumping through it. Howard Beale is alive again, and you are starting to listen to his message. Open that window and shout to the world: "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore." Well, its about time.

'Cosmic Consciousness' as Practiced For All To See

Witnessing the continuous replays from the massacre and destruction of the Twin Towers, one ordinarily seeks to understand the nature of the Evil that allows the commission of such dreadful crimes. As with most actions, behavior is motivated by the underlying beliefs, goals and aspirations of those involved. In this tragic event, we all have a difficult time accepting that such a callous disregard for innocent life is possible, from the hands of one man against another. So how can such cruelty be explained and how can it be averted from striking us again?

The Identity Crisis For Conservatives

We have heard the resounding voices of our patron saints from the Right lately that depart from the usual message of common sense and advocacy of Liberty. They have become the 'new jingoist', defender of the State and 'revenging angel'. You know of who they are: David Horowitz, Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh. They all claim to be Conservative. But what does that really mean, especially in todays crisis environment?

Take the following Ideology Test for yourselves: Ideology Selector TEST

The New 'PC' Censor Emerges

We have entered into a new age. Neighbors who once were considered friends are jumping ship and are running away to join the circus. The bazaar they are molding is a morphosis that was once condemned as the province of the Left. Now the stalwarts of the neoconservatives are leading the cause that merges into the mood that the new 'PC' is the standard. You say, what is this latest political correctness called? Of course it is the Patriotic Consensus.

War Hysteria Has Dire Consequences

Are you sure you are ready for the Truth? Can you handle the TRUTH? Well, the ship is being boarded and will embark very soon. This country will never return to the beacon of light on the hill . . . What is it within the American character that embraces self delusion? Is it the anti-intellectualism that permeates the culture, or is it the emotional nature of public consensus that rejects the lessons of history and common sense? Yes, we are on a collision course to oblivion.

When Will America Learn?

Gravity is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. But it pales in comparison to the insanity that festers in the American Psyche. Wholesale denial will be the legacy of the horror that struck our Nation today. The root cause for evil - lies within each of us. When its ugly head rises to a height that all can see, we tend to ignore our own complicity. Blame the perpetrators as criminals, as well we should; but most neglect to look within themselves for their unwillingness to confront depravity.

The Budget Shuffle Lacks Any Tussle

With the return of the treacherous lawmakers to Congress, the country is no longer safe. They are back in session. The perennial budget battle is more like a prance than bebop. The beat is the same and that familiar rhythm has been heard before, but where is the sass from those Republican legislatures that always play to this same tempo? In days long past, the party in power would drive a budget through the House and the President would force the Senate to accept the substance of priorities. Today's timidity has Bush playing the role of a fake innocent, while the Democrats discharge the Brando seed into the rear door.

Labor in America Avoids Work

Today's society is turned upside down from the world that once worked. Rewards now go to the most unproductive and those who still toil are penalized. Work continues to retain dignity, but no longer offers benefits. The most desired jobs have become in the employ of the government. While risk takers are beset upon with disproportionate taxes, excessive regulations and constant legal liabilities; most carry on even though their rational side tells them to withdraw from the fray. It wasn't always like this, and this gradual transformation has been couched in the seduction of extravagant consumerism.

Time to Solve the Voting Problem

Since the franchise ritual is held up as a sacred right, what is the evidence that our country has been well served with the universal ballot? You say heresy! How can anyone question that every adult has an equal and lawful claim on selecting our political leaders? Well, look at the record . . . You must have heard about that social advancement called the nineteenth amendment, haven't you? The cause of equality finally corrected past wrongs, so what's the problem? Don't let the facts get in the way of your joy; you now are equal. The idea that your involvement has caused real suffering because of suffrage, should not silent your voice. For you are 'Woman' and you are invincible.

Fantasy is the Current Test of Reality

Anyone who is excited with another lackluster pro football season, appreciates the value of escapism. All sports in general have evolved into the distraction that 'the every man' chase a desire to flee the hard cruel realities of life. The rage of Fantasy Football, especially symbolizes the nature of disconnect with current events that the fan indulges. A cursory assessment tends to dismiss this phenomenon as camp pop culture, but a closer review may well speak to the nature of our current society.

Cells, Science and Morality

As expected, the Bush announcement on Federal Funding of embryonic stem cells, hasn't pleased everyone. But consensus is seldom the basis for making decisions, and certainly not a moral one. President Bush made the wrong choice, but his sincere and impassioned appeal for a return to moral conduct and ethical behavior is rare for presidential speeches. The decision only affects the expenditure of Federal Funds for research on these " 60 genetically diverse stem cell lines already existing ".

Two Reprobates of the Same Kind

With all the coverage for the last three months we should know everything about the love nest gone awry. But some of us have viewed this tawdry affair as non news and try to avoid all the speculation. Finally the bulletin is in: "Adultery Couple Have Same Sordid Past". The drum beat to characterize Chandra as a sympathetic figure deserving sensitive compassion has been exposed for its hypocrisy. The poster matriarch for dysfunctional parenting, whines daily and acts like a spoiled bitch for not getting her way. Attempts to demand answers for what happened to her lose ladylike daughter fills the air waves with more hurt and distress. Who could not share her pain? Well, I know of one that doesn't . . .

Buckwheat Shuffles Back Home

The 'First Black' President returns to his roots. Well, that in effect is what he said today. As the crowd cheers and the music plays, the first fornicator says he hopes to appear on the Apollo stage! No doubt he will, but whether he plays his saxophone or just refines his soft shoe routine, he will continue to mesmerize the most confused and ignorant. No need to tap dance around this crowd, they all love the pimp and are quite willing to buy his dope. He's the superstar, the man and an example of what jive can produce. He talks of interdependence and how much we all need each other. How much he brings to the community. And how much he is now at home! Who could resist this guy? How could anyone not follow his lead?

The REAL 'Third World' War

Having just completed a journey to the Southwest of America, the indisputable observation is that a foreign land exists within our country. For those who are apologists for the current immigration policy, take the time to make your own visit. Maybe then you could speak from experience and not from emotional bewilderment. Now add the recent Bush consideration for an amnesty for all illegal intruders, and you have the final nail in the coffin of a once proud Nation.

The Law Lost

Few professions are based upon the skill of becoming a wordsmith. Even less are adept at using logic, analysis and reasoning. And fewer still are able to pursue the cause of noble purpose. Our view of the legal calling has been shaded with visions of esteem and respect since childhood. We have been taught that honor and duty were tenants that advocates of the civil law took to heart and aspired to follow in their occupation. But at some point in our lives, we are brought into direct contact with the reality of the legal trade and are left with a foul taste from the experience.

Government Sponsored Gambling

Few examples of the moral decay within our society are as obvious as the Lotto mania. Not the activity of gambling, but the coercive monopoly that the State imposes upon the public. Is there anyone who would argue that wagering is a unique public function that only the government can be expected to conduct? Not exactly a matter of national security, is it? So what gives the government the claim to retain the exclusive rights to this activity?

Judging the morality of betting is not the issue.

AMA = Asinine Meddling Agitators

The new president of the American Medical Association, Dr. Richard F. Corlin from Santa Monica, California has a pet peeve. His proposal for a study into firearm injuries is nothing more than an assault upon guns themselves. It seems the good doctor wants data on the subject so that a review can be made to set AMA policy against gun violence. Well who would oppose reducing gun related injuries and deaths, but with the recent history of this esteemed group of physicians, it seems that this president is siding with 'Doctors Against Handgun Injury'.

Diminished Expectations with Incremental Declivity

When was the last time that your Representatives fought the fight for Freedom and raised the standard for Liberty? Probably not for a very long time! The last effort of courage was by Senator Phil Graham when single handedly, he defeated the Hillary health care take over back in the first Klinton administration. Sure would like to know other examples of bravery and statesmanship. Just can't remember any, lately. We have all become jaded to the prospects that meaningful defense of individual rights will take place. In its place is a resignation that each successive Administration and Congress will drain another quart of blood from the body politik.

Above the Law for Some - Means Justice Denied for Us

Let no man forget that the prosecutors are the agent of the State. Their capacity to decide if a case should be pursued, the kind of charges to be filed or if the action itself needs to be dropped, is a power that few within our Society possess. Today we have two notable examples that ought to rock the confidence of the average citizen in this system gone mad. The Justice Department is no longer demanding that former FBI agent Robert Hanssen face the death penalty.
